Clinical Pilates
Our Pilates classes will get you out of pain and moving better than you ever have. Prior to participating in our Pilates program, our physiotherapists complete a comprehensive consultation to ensure we build you a program that is individual to your needs, strengths, weaknesses and goals.
New to Pilates?
When it comes to your physical health, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach.
Our goal in your Pilates induction is to create a personalised Pilates experience that caters to your individual needs and goals to help you get over injury and help your body perform at its best!
In this 1-on-1 assessment we:
- Assess your specific muscle imbalances and mobility deficits
- Introduce you to the Pilates studio and the equipment
- Run you through the core exercises of your program
- Give you some basic exercises to work on between classes
Our Program
Our program is focused on rehabilitation and prevention. Your physio will prescribe specific Pilates exercises based on what we see in your physiotherapy assessment. These exercises target your problem areas ensuring greater results and minimizing the risk of injury re-aggravation.
You will use a combination of specialised Pilates equipment, which will be complemented by floor-based exercises depending on your needs. This means we can increase your resistance as you progress in your Clinical Exercise Program.
Whether your aim is to be pain free, participate in elite level activities, run your next marathon or simply chase after your kids, this first assessment allows us to tailor your sessions to your body and goals.
Why are our Pilates Classes different?
Our Pilates classes are run by a physiotherapist with a maximum of five people in a class. This means we have our eyes on you at all times.
The classes are designed around your assessment, meaning every exercise we give you is focusing on your key weak areas, past injuries and postural habits. We aren’t just running you through your paces.
We use several different pieces of equipment in the classes, these include:
- Reformer
- Wunda Chair
- Trapeze Table
- Hand weights
- Therabands
- Swiss Balls
Availability
Classes are limited to five participants only.
By having a small class size it allows our physiotherapists to give you enough attention to ensure you are getting the most out of the class and performing each exercise correctly. Our physios focus specifically on exercises that are beneficial to you and your goals in a closely supervised environment.
Everyone has a unique body and way of moving. By participating in your classes with our highly trained physiotherapists your sessions are ensured to be goal orientated and individualised, very different to attending general fitness classes with 20 other people!
Health Fund Rebates Available!
